The maximum number of pages is 6, A4 format, using
the following page margins: left 30 mm, right 25 mm,
bottom 25 mm, top 25 mm.
THE TITLE OF THE PAPER(Times New Roman, 14
pt Capital letters, Bold, Alignment center). One blank
line.
AUTHOR(S) (Times New Roman, 14 pt, Bold,
Alignment center), followed by the scientific title and
institution (Italics). Two blank lines.
ABSTRACT (Times New Roman, 12 pt., Justify) No
more than 200 words. Write "ABSTRACT" followed by
a presentation of the paper. One blank line.
THE CONTENT OF THE PAPER Chapters (Times
New Roman,, 14 pt., Bold, Alignment left). One blank
line between them.Subheads (Times New Roman, 12

Cultural association “Manifest” is launching the third edition of the international poetry contest “Art Attack”.

Cultural association “Manifest” is launching the third edition of the international poetry contest “Art Attack”. The festival uses engaged literature as a form with the possibility of affecting public opinion and introducing positive changes in the society. After two successful editions, the festival has spread across over twenty different countries around the world and was recognized by numerous cultural institutions in Croatia and abroad.


This year’s topic is “children”. The contest is open for authors up to 30 years of age who send their works (max 3 poems) in Croatian and/or English to the e-addressart.attack.fest@gmail.com. Closing date is March 15th, 2011.


The jury will choose 15 works which will be published in a bilingual poetry collection. Together with their works, authors are asked to send basic information about themselves: name and surname, date and country of birth as well as a short biography. Authors will be notified about the results by the end of March, 2011.


The festival will last for one week and will include events such as: presentation of the poetry collection, poetry readings, meetings with the awarded poets, children workshops, theatre plays and films as well as presentations of organisations participating in the project.


Awarded authors will be invited to participate in the events in Zagreb, Split and Šibenik in June 2011.

PAPER FORMAT

Papers will be written in English and will be of maximum 10 pages long.
Papers must comply with the guidelines described in the IECS 2011 Template. The organizing committee reserves the right to reject submissions that do not comply with this format.
Participants can send either an individual paper or two papers in collaboration. The organizing committee will not accept papers with more than 3 co-authors.
All submissions are subject to a double blind review process. Papers will be evaluated for originality, significance, clarity, and contribution.
Accepted and presented papers will be published in the CD Conference Proceedings with ISBN that will be submitting for evaluation and coverage in the Conference Proceedings Citation Index by Thomson Reuters - ISI Proceedings.
Selected papers will be considered for publication in Revista Economică (http://economice.ulbsibiu.ro/rom/profesori/publicatii/revista_economica.php), a CNCSIS B+ Journal, indexed in RePeC, Ulrich`s Periodicals Directory, DOAJ.

I received about 50 poems from Ionela Flood, a member of the Romanian community in Britain, together with the request to write a preface to their publication.
I have known her for a few years; this energetic force of national culture who, like many other Romanians has decided to work abroad - in her case England.
She is, by far, one of the most active leaders of Romanian associations in the world. For almost two days information has reached us about the activities they undertake for the benefit of Romanian, both in the sphere of social and cultural matters. I should mention her participation at the only meeting of Romanians from the Diaspora , held in Alba Iulia; Annual Congress of Romanian spirituality.
She is outspoken and persuasive, defending Romanian, the language and culture of this nation. Thereby forcing people to talk about their home, with more respect and it has to be said, in a powerful literary her wish is to draw the community in which she lives towards Romanian culture.
She chose to surface with poetry, adding her name to the long list of notable poets from Romanian literature, , naturally, with its modern development, with an important share of their creation, as well as in other cultures. We Romanians, take pride in well known poets, who have remained in literary history, each with their recognized role in cultures around the world; for example, Anna de Noailles, , as with Iulia Hasdeu, unfortunately gone before she could fully establish her promising talent. Next, Veronica Micle, in tune more with the love poetry of Eminescu, a poet in the true sense of the word, followed a long line of illustrious names- many recorded - and the language in which they wrote, especiallyFrench.
The twentieth century was made much richer by women, and, quite encouraging for the whole of literature, written by women, claiming in all areas - poetry, prose, drama, and essay.
I see the contribution of Romanian literature as extremely beneficial, bringing a touch of tenderness, refinement, expressiveness and it is therefore very receptive to any new appearance on the horizon becoming full of creative reflection.
I turned on the computer, reading on the monitor screen, first mechanically, and then with a growing interest in the lively lyrics submitted by Ionela Flood, with our desire to express in one word.
I’m not a supporter of reading poems on a screen. They flog the rhythms and the written traces. I think that a poem is not to be read as a novel, to grab the storyline, the unrealizable to learn the end. Reading a volume of poetry requires a certain measure of lyrical essences: to read a few poems, then let the rhythms and rhymes influence you: then, back to reading, for you to access the meanings of metaphors and the emotional state of the creator.
But, observe, reading and electronics can be modern, more practical, easier, but depriving you of that intimacy that is created between the reader and page, making it nearly impossible to read a poem back to your loved one, since, you can make a dedication to the lyrics in front of a computer.
But let's return to the verses that we read, even in the modern option. I knew that Ionela Flood is an essayist and that she could write poetry. She has even recited, once, a few poems. Now, here, we have a volume which is mainly an expression of love . A late love? Certainly not: perpetually, at any age, we are capable of love. Its sensitivity towards others is different from the other poetesses today, revealing the surprise of metaphor. She understood that love
"Me I have regained my self / my love”.
In this reflection there is "the taste of happiness". It is destined to overcome even, merely "with my right eyelash”.
The offering is a dose of discretion and sexual exuberance from The Country Girls, like in the debut volume of Maria Banus.
Love, no matter how vulgar, sensuous, voluptuous described by other poets, differs with the pen of Ionela Flood. Consider, "you started to boil within me,": said with a certain tenderness. Also in this quatrain:


It's your house too small
I collect on the thighs.
It hurts on the eaves,
And going back-n trance.
(Nest)

Such love is a passion: and with poets, "is free", is destined to cure the wound infinity;victory is a delicacy and not sexual torment. The rationale is to "scream my longing " : the woman who feels "A princess for a kiss" even if "forgotten"; obsession is the "spiral", which means virility, but also spiritual twist. (Brancusi is referred to and also James Joyce´s spiral) Waiting, searching, retrieving means, "to consume the desire”.
As with any poetess, she is not interested in the biological woman, but the outbreak of genuine thrill, beyond age and desire. Simply put, "we loved / we used to love / us two" for that "we kiss the same sky”. Love lights, clear, in search of purity, which is not always found.
These are revelations, that the poet gives us, in a modern descriptive style , with refreshing expression; wavering between the purity of love and dedication.
Undoubtedly, not all poems are equal in value - nor should they be - and even within the same poem you can not find a constructive balance. But overall, the structure itself is impressive: lyrical outburst, sincerity, honesty of feelings. There is an abundance of elegant lyrical expression.
This volume must be read and to begin it compels you to find the meaning and to continue. A rhyme is a difficult statement and not an accidental form. .. The poet should dedicate herself, for her vocation, only to this form in the future.

Călători prin cuvinte

O carte este o izbândă a omului asupra cuvintelor şi a timpului care ni s-a dat, pe care adeseori nu ştim să-l drămăluim…
Cartea de poezie este altceva! Ea este în primul rând victoria sensibilităţii, a visurilor frumoase asupra pragmatismului cotidian, asupra banalului şi vulgarităţii care ameninţă să domine contemporaneitatea.
Poetul face un lucru formidabil: El extrage din cuvintele pe care noi le utilizăm, şi le tocim, pe acelea care prin conotaţie şi armonie ne încântă, ne emoţionează, trezeşte ceea ce vechii greci numeau cathatsisul!

S-a întrebat cineva câte săptămâni poţi simţi că trăieşti într-o clipă? Într-un gând, care-ţi revine seară de seară şi-ţi alungă somnul? Ce şi câte idei au ars în subtilul şi fantasticul laborator poetic când ai dat formă prin scris metaforei Mugurilor din scrum? Din aceşti muguri va germina însă holda de maci roşii, maci de suflet înconjuraţi de spinii dragostei, care picură din vârfurile lor ascuţite lacrimi de iubire…

Numai un poet poate cunoaşte o cale prin care să alunge dintre noi durerea şi nedreptatea printr-o stea! Rogu-te, Doamnă de Poezie să-i spui acelei Stele să facă un ocol şi pe la noi! Sau spune-ne măcar în ce Galaxie s-o căutăm!
Oare cine altcineva decât un vers inspirat ar putea să te înveţe să ţeşi punţi peste apele repezi dintre inimi şi uitarea destinului?
Versurile dumitale mi se par asemenea acelor cununi de premiere pe care le primeam în copilărie: flori proapete, verde crud, îndemn şi argument că posesorii acestora pot visa.

Citind versurile din Parfumul îngerilor am înţeles ceva şi anume că sufletele celor care iubesc frumosul realizat prin cuvinte sunt gemene!
Scriam, în celălalt mileniu, la vârsta încercărilor despre un volum de poezii (N.Labiş): ”Cu de toate m-ai alintat! Haine noi mi-ai cumpărat, De cuvinte-împărat…” După un sfert de veac altcineva, ajuns prin acele ciudate meandre ale vieţii pe malurile Atlanticului ţese haine din cuvinte. Tânărul de atunci ciufulea bănuţii de lână ai mieilor, matale, Domniţă, ciufuleşti iluziile…

Boala noastră naţională – de suflet – se numeşte dor! Călăii timpului n-au reuşit s-o “vindece”. Dorul nostru e nemuritor. Numai noi avem dor de casă, de masă, de strămoşi, un dor care doineşte lin de câteva mii de ani pe un plai mirific şi în bobul de grâu fiert la focul vetrei, în iernile carpatine.
Am fost ninşi de necazuri în zbuciumul istoriei, dar nu uitam că pentru noi, românii ninsoarea înseamnă Naşterea Domnului!

Colindul adus pe fiece fulg de nea, alife de suflet, ne vindecă mai ales de aleanul copilăriei. Colindul ne aduce-n minte părinţii care erau tineri, pe bunici, pe fraţii mai mari, pe atunci şi ei mici…
Dorul să colinde îndărăt, în copilărie, în zâmbetul bunicului pe care-l cunosc doar dintr-o fotografie.

Colind ţesut din fuiorul îngeresc, colind de mamă, căreia una dintre fete, în dumezeiasca naivitate-i cere şalul păstrat pentru înmormântare, iar cealaltă botinele cu care mergea doar la biserică, colind cu fraţi cinci, care nu mai voiam să mergem în opinci, unul i-a cerut cismele, altul cojocul, celălalt căciula…
Colind de stele, în care râde lacrima. Recunosc, am plâns prea mult, copil şi tânăr fiind… credeam că mi-a secat izvorul lacrimilor… Aşa ceva nu-i posibil… Colindul de mamă mi-a adus câteva mărgăritare umezi la colţul genelor, mulţumesc pentru ele, Doamnă Ionela Flood!
Un greier cu domiciliul flotant în viţa de vie de sub streaşina casei mele mi-a făcut aseară o vizită şi cântând în limba universală a celor care iubesc frumosul, mi-a şoptit că e dor de poezie, învaluindu-mă cu o broderie mai ciudată, cu parfum dulceag, cusută cu molinea de gânduri vopsită în zeamă de rădăcină de ciuboţica cucului şi de coajă de sânger, la care s-au pus trei boabe de sămânţă de mărgăritar, roşii, neapărat culese într-o noapte din ultima decadă din zodia Fecioarei.

Noapte de vis

Am priponit uitarea
Intr-un colţ de cer
şi-am stat la cinã amândoi
înfãşuraţî în hainele-aşteptãrii
dansând prin roua deşteptãrii
cu-aşteptarea la desert
n-a fost o cale
sã te apleci prea înţelept

Te-am adunat din amintiri
ca sã te pot servi cu un kefir.
iar puiul perpelit in frigãrui
sã-ti rãscoleascã dulce-amãrui
privirile topite-n asfinţit
şi pofta pusã-n cuiul
nu stiu cui

O candelã-am lãsat aprinsã
pe prispa casei sãrutând zãvoiul
cararea lin si-a dibuit izvorul
În aşteptarea şoaptelor din noi.
