Women's Empowerment Programme at The ClementJames Centre

I hope you are well. I'm writing regarding the second cycle of the Women's Empowerment Programme at The ClementJames Centre. After a successful first round, we are looking forward to starting another course in a few weeks' time.

 

The course will focus primarily on confidence building and personal and professional development. It will enable participants to reflect on their interests, recognise their achievements, and think about any aspirations and goals they would like to pursue. In addition, it will give women the opportunity to participate in various workshops on cooking and healthy eating, DIY skills, and music to name a few.

                                                                                  

The eight week course will begin on Thursday 1^st May and take place at our centre close to Latimer Road tube station.

 

There will be a taster and registration session on Thursday 17^th April beginning at 1:15 – 2:30pm (RSVP essential) where prospective participants will be able to gain an overview of the course, meet women who have just completed the programme, and have the opportunity to ask any questions. Participants who wish to sign up for the programme must attend the taster session.

 

As the course takes place in a small group setting, we only have six places remaining, and these will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. If you have any clients who would benefit from such a programme, please ask them to get in touch by Monday 14^th April to let us know they would like to attend the taster day.

Copilarind cu cantecele neegalatei artiste Maria Ciobanu am invatat ca muzica reprezinta glasul gandirii si al sufletului. Sensibilitatea unui artist poate influenta cu desavarsire perceptia publicului ascultator. Insufland ganduri frumoase reusim sa primim dragostea si admiratia publicului.Iubesc folclorul traditional romanesc si intotdeauna m-am mandrit cu faptul ca sunt romanca. Pentru mine muzica este cel mai bun prieten al omului ce poate alina sufletul in momentele dificile ale vietii.Provenind din zona Olteniei am pregatit un buchet de melodii care sper sa va readuca zambetul pe fata . Folclorul este ceea ce ma reprezinta cel mai bine. Promovarea propriei culturi este o responsabilitate morala a fiecaruia dintre noi,de aceea eu am ales sa infaptueisc acest lucru prin mesajul cantecelor mele si a celor care ne-au lasat ca si mostenire, un adevarat tezaur folcloric. Cel mai special este faptul ca fiecare melodie a folclorului romanesc inspira sentimente de o extraordinara profunzime, reusind asadar sa se formeze o punte de legatura dintre sufletele ascultatorilor si a celor ce traiesc prin cantec iar acest lucru este cel mai important. Versurile folclorului romanesc, sunt inradevar cuvinte nespuse ale inimii care au puterea de a unii suflete, sentimente si ganduri, de aceea cantecelor folclorice vor fi legate pe veci de catre identitatea noastra nationala si culturala.

 

COSMIN DAVID

Cosmin David este originar din Constanta, cu o cariera initial in televiziunea locala este stabilit de cativa ani la Londra .Cosmin este un tanar talentat in lumea artelor fiind confortabil sa abordeze cu profesionalism atat pictura dar si creatia muzicala, atat  arta interpretativa teatrala sau muzicala, dar si filmul.

 

IONELA FLOOD

 

Absolventa a studiilor de management cultural cu bursa acordata  de către Ministerul Culturii , România , în 1999 , a studiat  în Italia , Grecia , Franța și Marea Britanie. Stabilita la Londra din 2002,  a finalizat o cercetare de doctorat cu o bursă de la Ministerul de educație din România în domeniul Managementului proiectelor pentru dezvoltarea comunitatii locale, în timp ce a dezvoltat  proiecte pentru români din  străinătate . Ca director al Centrului Cultural  Mihai Eminescu din București 1999-2002, a fondat revista Enigmaticul  și a inițiat o serie de manifestari: Festivalul  Mihai Eminescu, Festivalul  Mileniului III și Sport Dans Festival. A devenit președinte al Asociației Info Manager deîn 2001 , Vice presedinte de Liga Culturala a Romanilor in 2004 , presedinte al Societatii Romanca, în anul 2006 , vicepresedinte al Radio TVunirea in 2011, promovand dezvoltarea  managementului, marketingului și crearea unor  rețele  socio-culturale europene si internationale. Activitatea  artistica a imbracat diferite forme in ultimii 10 ani: de la organizarea primului Festival de Traditii la Londra, la articole academice si poezie (Premiul Grigore Vieru 2009), de la  pictura (Wimbledon Art Studio) la activitati curatoriale si organizare de evenimente in Romania, Italia, Spania, Austria, Franta si Marea Britanie. Recent a infiintat editura Reverberate Books si Transylvanian Editions pentru promovarea traducerii si publicarii creatiilor literare ale autorilor romani.

Astăzi, 27 martie 2014, aniversăm Unirea Basarabiei cu România, moment istoric prin care teritoriul estic al principatului Moldovei a revenit în componenţa teritorială a României, după ce fusese alipit în 1812 Imperiului Ţarist. Votul dat de Sfatul Ţării (instituţia legislativă a regiunii) la 27 martie 1918 pentru unirea Basarabiei cu România a consfinţit atunci dorinţa firească a românilor de reîntregire şi a evidenţiat durabilitatea legăturilor lingvistice şi istorice, care au depăşit bariere şi frontiere. De altfel, Basarabia a fost prima dintre provinciile istorice româneşti care s-a alăturat României în 1918, deschizând atunci calea revenirii celorlalte provincii istorice la România (Ardealul, Crişana, Banatul, Maramureşul şi Bucovina). Punctul 6 din această decizie de unire cu România stipula că „drepturile minorităţilor urmau să fie garantate prin lege şi respectate în statul român”. România a avut un respect constant pentru drepturile minorităţilor naţionale şi garantează şi respectă şi în prezent, cu convingere şi în conformitate cu reglementările internaţionale, drepturile minorităţilor din România.

La aproape un secol de la acest episod de mare însemnătate istorică pentru România şi Republica Moldova, românii de pe ambele maluri ale Prutului continuă să fie legaţi prin limbă, cultură, istorie, tradiţii şi legături profunde de prietenie şi cooperare. Această legătură specială continuă prin fiecare generaţie, care face o punte între România şi Republica Moldova prin limba şi cultura română.

Departamentul Politici pentru Relaţia cu Români de Pretutindeni va continua să sprijine dezvoltarea şi consolidarea identităţii culturale româneşti în Republica Moldova, stat vecin şi partener unde limba şi cultura română constituie baza manifestărilor identitare.

Onorăm astăzi determinarea şi deciziile ferme ale predecesorilor noştri, care au făcut posibilă reunirea românilor într-un singur stat şi au făcut din această apropiere a românilor misiunea lor de durată. Ne exprimăm speranţa că, în curând, România şi Republica Moldova se vor regăsi în cadrul Uniunii Europene, unde vor avea ocazia să prezinte, împreună, caracterul cultural şi identitar comun al românilor din România şi Republica Moldova, arătând Europei întregi importanţa acestei comuniuni de limbă şi istorie, valori ale aceleiaşi identităţi.

Acest concert este  primul din seria evenimentelor interculturale programate in acest an la Londra, fiind  dedicat promovarii traditiilor si identitatii culturale romanesti.
